Is It Permissible To Develop Software For Ticket Management Systems For Different Events?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Darulfiqh.com

Question:

I am a software engineer and i have to develop a software for ticket management system which maybe used for different events. Events can be eid event, christmas, political event, singing event. So I guess some events will be fine and some will be not fine according to Islam.
Please help as I do not want to earn haram income.

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

Answer:

It is permissible to develop a generic software for ticket management.

The Fiqh (jurisprudence of the Answer):

This is not considered as assisting in sin as a generic software is multipurpose and not only used for sinful endeavours.  Thus, the service and development are permissible in themselves and the accrued income in lieu of a permissible service is lawful.
