Feeding people is part of noble character and noble character leads to Jannah

Question

Is this Hadith authentic?

مكارم الأخلاق من عمل الجنة

Answer

Imam Tabarani (rahimahullah) has recorded this narration.

Once some people came to visit Sayyiduna Anas (radiyallahu ‘anhu) when he was ill. He told his slave girl, “Bring something for our [guests] even if be some pieces of bread, for I heard Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) say, ‘Noble character is from the actions of Jannah.’” [i.e. Noble character will lead a person close to Jannah]

(Al Mu’jamul Awsat, Hadith: 6497)

‘Allamah Mundhiri and ‘Allamah Haythami (rahimahumallah) have declared the chain authentic (jayyid).

(Targhib, vol. 3 pg. 373, Majma’uz Zawaid, vol. 8 pg. 177)

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best.
