Is it permissible for a woman in Haidh to cut her nails and shave any unwanted hair from her body?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by TheMufti.com

Q. Is it permissible for a woman in Haidh to cut her nails and shave any unwanted hair from her body?

A. It is permissible for a woman to cut her nails and shave any of her unwanted hair whilst in the state of menstruation (Haidh).

In fact, it is preferable (Mustahab) to cut one’s nails and shave any unwanted hair once a week/every 7 days. To do it on the day of Jumuah is most virtuous. If that is not possible, then it is permissible to do it every 15 days. However, once should not leave one’s nails and one’s hair uncut and unshaved for more than 40 days as one will be sinning.
