Question:
I migrated to the USA last year, since then I have not been in touch with the Islamic holidays, the mosque is too far away from me, so I pray home. I usually do Qurbani thru my family in Trinidad unfortunately, I missed the opportunity to partake in Qurbani this year, I know that it is a grave sin and I should have been more attentive to this important event. How do I correct this problem especially when Qurbani is today 26th Oct 2012. I have no means of doing it in the USA so I depend solely on my relatives to assist in this regard in Trinidad. Please advise on what I can do at this late stage?

As mentioned in the books of Fiqh, you will need to either purchase an animal and give it in charity or give its value in charity.
