I read that it is mustahab to perform wudu before every salat.

Question:

asalam alaikum,

I read that every bit of good counts on your scale of deeds so when I read that it is mustahab to perform wudu before every salat I got very excited saying this is something i could do. i think i said that inshallah i will do it before every salat but I do not know if i made a promise to Allah. however, this is becoming a bit hard especially for instance if i wake up for tuhujjud i make wudu then do i have to repeat my wudu, also between asr and magrib and isha, the time is very short, do i still have to renew my wudu. or is it okay if i retract my statement from Allah?

Answer:

Wa Alaikum as Salaam,

Once you are in the state of Wudu, you do not have to repeat Wudu for another Salaah. Saying that it is ‘some thing that you could do’, does not make it a promise. As such, whenever you are able to practice upon your statement, you should do so, and if you cannot, then there is no harm.
