Khadrah (radiyallahu ‘anha); The slave girl of Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam)

Did Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) have a slave girl by the name of Khadrah (خضرة)?

Answer

Yes. Imam Tabarani (rahimahullah) has recorded a narration wherein Muhammad ibn ‘Ali ibn Husayn (rahimahullah) states, ‘Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) had a slave girl by the name of Khadrah.’

(Al Mu’jamul Kabir, Hadith: 639, volume: 24)

‘Allamah Haythami (rahimahullah) has declared the narrators reliable.

(Majma’uz Zawaid, vol. 9 pg. 262. Also see: Usdul Ghabah, vol. 7 pg. 87 and Al Isabah, vol. 13 pg. 327)

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best.
