Wearing a hat/topi when eating

Is there a narration to show that Nabi (sallallahu’alayhi wasallam) covered his head when eating?

Answer

Hafiz Ibn Hajar (rahimahullah) has cited the following narration, recorded by Imam Ibnus Sakan:

“A Sahabi [by the name of Farqad radiyallahu ‘anhu] says, ‘I ate with Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) and I saw [him wearing] a white topi on the middle of his head.’”

(Al Isabah, vol. 8 pg. 536, under the biography of Farqad radiyallahu ‘anhu. Also see: Subulul Huda War Rashad, vol. 7 pg. 447)

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best.
