Who is this statement attributed to?

‘Be content with whatever sustenance Allah has given you and you will be wealthy. Place your firm trust in Allah and you will be firm and strong’

Answer

Imam Abu Nu’aym (rahimahullah) has recorded this as the advice of Imam Sufyan Thawri (rahimahullah).

(Hilyatul Awliya, vol. 7 pg. 85)

The first sentence is also found in a Hadith of Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam). See here
