Aa’maal Not Proven From The Quraan And Hadith

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Darulifta Azaadville

Question:

For a few months now this message has be going around on WhatsApp. I would like to now is the authenticity to it. Aswell as is there any hadith that confirm this. The message is as follows:

14 night of every lunar month for any difficulty/illness, recite 11 times Durood + 111 times ya Rawfi’oo & 11 times Durood.

Answer:

There are certain Aa’maal that are prescribed in the Hadith by Rasulullah and he would act upon such Aa’maal himself, such as the recitation of Surah Ikhlaas, Surah Falaq and Surah Naas, before retiring to bed, etc.

However, there are many Aa’maal that are not proven from the Ahadith of Rasulullah rather these are prescribed by the pious or righteous scholars, etc. It is possible that some pious person recited certain verses of the Quraan Sharif a specific number of times or a particular name of Almighty Allah a specific number of times for some problem or illness and the said prescription proved beneficial. Now, although this Amal is not proven from the Quraan and Hadith, there is no harm in reciting it.

Now coming to your query, the Amal in question has been prescribed by Hadrat Maulana Yunus Palanpuri Saheb D.B. hence the source is evident. Although the Amal is not supported by any Hadith, there is no harm in acting upon it when afflicted with illnesses and difficulties. It could have proven beneficial for individuals in the past.

In conclusion, it would be permissible to carry out tried and tested spiritual prescriptions that are advised by pious elders, provided that one does not attribute it to any Hadith or the Sunnah of Rasulullah .
