The description of ‘Isa (‘alayhis salam)

Can you cite a Hadith which explains a physical description of Nabi ‘Isa (‘alayhis salam)

Answer

Hereunder are a few narrations which describe ‘Isa (‘alayhis salam):

1) Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (radiyallahu ‘anhu) narrates that Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said:

“….I met ‘Isa, he was one of moderate height and was red-faced as if he had just come out of a bathroom”

(Sahih Bukhari, Hadith: 3394 and Sahih Muslim, Hadith: 168)

2) Sayyiduna ‘Abdullah ibn ‘Umar (radiyallahu ‘anhuma) reports that Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said:

“I saw ‘Isa, Musa and Ibrahim (‘alayhimus salam). ‘Isa had a reddish complexion with curly hair and a broad chest”

(Sahih Bukhari, Hadith: 3438)

3) Sayyiduna ‘Abdullah ibn ‘Umar (radiyallahu ‘anhuma) reports that Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said:

“Last night at the Ka’bah, I had a dream of a man with wheat coloured skin, the best wheat coloured skin among men, his hair was between his shoulders, straight hair and water was dripping from his head. He had his hands placed on the shoulders of two men, and was doing Tawaf of the Ka’bah. I said, ‘Who is this?’ They said, “This is Masih, The son of Maryam”

(Sahih Bukhari, Hadith: 3440 and Sahih Muslim, Hadith: 169)

4) Sayyiduna Jabir (radiyallahu ‘anhu) narrates that Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said:

“…And I saw ‘Isa (‘alayhis salam), son of Maryam, the nearest in resemblance with him was ‘Urwah ibn Mas’ud (radiyallahu ‘anhu)

(Sahih Muslim, Hadith: 167)

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best.
