Skype and video calling one’s wife

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: I am living in Saudi and I am from Pakistan. I often call my wife through imo or skype. Sometime I feel a lot of sex and often I see some sex urine from me not urine but like urine white colour. I am sure that all men have this kind of urine before sex or after seeing some sex or woman but my question is if that water or urine come out, can I do zikar? If not then what to do? I love zikr, istighfaar, etc, but that is a big problem for me.

Bismillaah

A: Pictures of all animate objects are declared Haraam in islaam. Severe warnings have been sounded in the Mubarak Ahadeeth for the one who gets involved in this major sin. Hence it is impermissible for you to look at your wife on skype. You should sincerely repent to Allah Ta’ala for committing this sin and make a firm resolve that you will not repeat this sin in the future. If mazi (pre-coital fluid) had come out then your wudhu had broken. If semen had come out then ghusal had become fardh upon you. It is permissible for one in the state of janaabat  to engage in zikr or istighfaar. However reciting the Quraan in this state is not permissible.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
