Question: Assalamualaikum Is it permissible for a Muslim to marry a Christian or a Jew? There are those Muslims that marry Christians and they say it is permissible. There is an Aayah that says something like this, don’t regard the Jews and Christians as friends, yes it is an answer to my question. We live in a rainbow country, we are exposed to all kinds and types of Muslims. There is an Egyptian brother in our area who understands Qur’an well, but he says there is nothing wrong with this, in fact he married a revert, he told her she does not have to revert as it will be permissible to marry a Christian, but the sister reverted as she loved Islaam.
