Miracles by the Awlia-Allah

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Tafseer Raheemi

Question

Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wabarakathuhu,

I want to get clarified some incidents which I have read, referenced book called Rauz.

Incident 1. A person saw in grave that an Awlia Allah was praying in his grave.

Incident 2. When a student of Awlia Allah washing his teacher’s Maiyyath(body) after his death, he suddenly open’s his eyes and smiled. Student asked we think you are dead, for this the Awlia replied that “Surely friends of  Allah are just transferred from one world to another”.

Can you please clarify these incidents, whether believing on these incidents are Shirk ? because I have seen lot of comments on these incidents as Shirk?

Forgive me if the question I asked is disgusting.

Answer

Do you know what shirk is? Shirk means to associate partners to Allah. Whether in his zaat, sifaat, orAf’aal. In the stories you have mentioned, there is nothing of this.

1. Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wasallam saw Musa alayhis salaam praying in his grave, when he went for me’raj.

2. In Surah al-Baqarah, we read that Musa alayhis salaam brought a dead person back to life who informed the name of the murderer, so there are many incidents of this type mentioned in history. Therefore do not doubt these miracles shown by Allah.
