Is touching the baby’s private parts with a diaper wipe like touching it with your fingers, or does the cloth act as a barrier between your hands and the baby’s body?

There must be skin-to-skin contact for one’s wudu to be invalidated. As such, using a diaper wipe or wearing gloves would prevent one’s wudu from being invalidated.
