Where Do Babies Come From?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Darulifta Azaadville

Question:

In light of the Shariah, what’s the proper response to give to a child who asks where do babies come from?

Answer:

As Muslim parents it is our duty to teach our children the name of Allah and the Kalimah from their tender age. Rasulullah  commanded us likewise “Make the first word to be heard by your children to speak: La ilaaha illa Allah (None is truly worthy of worship but Allah).” Hence, if a child asks where babies come from; we should tell the child that the baby is created by Allah in the womb of the mother without elaborating on the reproductive anatomy and physiology. Instead, we should emphasize on explaining how Allah is so powerful that he created all our body parts in the darkness of the mother’s womb and sustained us with food. Insha Allah in this way the child will learn about Allah from a very tender age and will have an upright upbringing with the proper recognition of Allah
