What is the ruling on working at a petrol station at the till and serving the odd ham sandwich or chocolates etc?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Tafseer Raheemi

Question

Salaam Mawlana,

What is the ruling on working at a petrol station at the till and serving the odd ham sandwich or chocolates etc. which contain haram ingredients? How do I purify my earnings of this small percentage of haram (like ham sandwiches etc.) sales. There is no alcohol in the station Alhamdulillah.

Jazakallah, I anticipate your reply. May Allah reward you!

Answer

Give as much Sadaqah as possible. Since most of your income is halal, therefore your earnings are halal for you.
