Removing extra fat through surgery.

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Tafseer Raheemi

.
Salaam…

I was wondering if a person was extremely fat and lost all the weight he would have a lot of extra skin. Would he be able to remove it through surgery or just have to live with the extra skin?”

Surgery for just beauty, eg liposuction should be avoided.

Surgery for medical need is permissible, provided the pain is not beyond one’s capacity to take and the most likely possibility is cure. If there is a risk of fatality, it will not be allowed.

Mufti Khalid Saifullah narrates from al-hindiyyah

In your question, the removal of the fat should be permissible.
