My question is, is there any truth to this statement according to your knowledge, and even if it is true is it allowed in Islam to slaughter animals in this way. Can Muslims eat animals slaughtered in this manner.

If the machine has a recording or their is a tape that recites ‘bismillah’ before slaughtering the animal the animal would not be legitimate rather it is forbidden. Whenever this happens, the same ruling will be applied that the animal is forbidden. Most likely this does not happen in Saudi Arabia.
