A narration regarding Fatimah (radiyallahu ‘anha) and her progeny

Please authenticate this Hadith.

Sayyiduna ‘Abdullah ibn Mas’ud (radiyallahu ‘anhu) reports, Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said:

“Fatima (radiyallahu ‘anha) has protected her honour and purity in such a way that Allah Ta’ala has protected her progeny from Jahannam.”

Imam Hakim (rahimahullah) has recorded this Hadith. ‘Allamah Dhahabi (rahimahullah) has declared one of the narrators extremely weak.

(Mustadrak Hakim, vol. 3 pg. 152)

‘Allamah Ibn Taymiyyah (rahimahullah) has declared the Hadith a fabrication.

(Minhajus Sunnah, vol. 4 pg. 62)

The following Hadith should be quoted instead:

Sayyiduna ‘Abdullah ibn ‘Abbas (radiyallahu ‘anhuma) reports, Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) told Sayyidah Fatimah (radiyallahu ‘anha), “Allah Ta’ala will not punish you or your children.”

(Al Mu’jamul Kabir, Hadith: 11685. Refer: Majma’uz Zawaid, vol. 9 pg. 202. Also see: Tanzihush Shari’ah, vol. 1 pg. 417)

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best.
