What if one masturbates and before he orgasms he stops and nothing comes out?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by ShariahBoard.org

What if one masturbates and before he orgasms he stops and nothing comes out? It is sinful? If you are having sex with your wife and you climax outside her vagina so she doesnn't get pregnant will that be sinful?

Firstly; masturbation is forbidden is Islam. Warnings of divine punishment have been made in the Ahadith for such people. That is why it is important to avoid it.

As for the issue of coitus reservatus, it is unlawful and haraam if it is for preventing birth of children from economic fear, and in that case it will be a sin.

If it is due to the weakness of the wife and unbearable pain or fear of miscarriage or any other excuse etc., If so, there is scope for it.

Under normal circumstances, it is “makrooh” to use it unnecessarily or on the basis of fashion, because it is against the Shari’ah rules.

In the Ahadiths it has been termed as “Wa’ad-e-Khafi” (burying alive), so it should be avoided under normal circumstances.

The Holy Prophet (SAW) has said:

“Marry women who are loving and very prolific, for I shall outnumber the peoples by you”.
