Question
If a person masturbates while fasting, what he should do to repent it?
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
Answer:
If a fasting person ejaculates as a result of masturbating, he will have to repeat the fast and there will be no kaffarah. [1]
One should sincerely repent from this sin, it is mentioned in a Hadeeth that when a person seeks forgiveness from sin, it is as if he did not commit that sin at all. [2]
At the time of seeking forgiveness keep the following points in mind:
- You should not be involved in the sin at the time of repentance.
- You should have regret and remorse over your sins.
- You should promise Allah Ta’ala that you will not return to that sin again.
