Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by ShariahBoard.org

Assalamualaikum.

Im 26 years old. Me and my family want to get married. But whenever I get a proposal. I start feeling uneasy and act up without thinking because of that i hurt my fmaily. After breaking I feel better. Till now i broke 1 engagement a day before nika and so many proposals. Please help me. I dont want to hurt my family or anyone anymore. Right now the death is the only thing stuck in my head. I feel like if i die then no-one will be hurt and I will be free.

I keep messing up. Should I commit suitcide?

It is not allowed to commit suicide under any circumstances. There are very strong warnings of divine punishment in the Ahadith about this.

It is in a Hadith Sharif that:

The man who committed suicide by falling from a mountain, that person will always be thrown into hell and he will always be there  and he will never come out of it.

A person who commits suicide by drinking poison, that poison will be in his hand,  which he will drink in the fire of hell, and will abide in hell forever, and will never get out of it.

And the man who killed himself with an iron weapon, such as a knife, his weapon will be in his hand in the fire of hell,  which he will thrust into his belly, and will abide in hell forever, never to come out of it.

The result of this Hadith is that whoever commits suicide will be punished for a long time in the Hereafter. Therefore, if suicide is  committed due to worldly misery, then the Hereafter will be destroyed along with this world as well.

There are a few things you must do to get out of this predicament:

1. Observance of prayers

2. Abundance of asking for forgiveness (Istighfaar)

3. Recitation in the morning and evening the following Surahs seven (7) times each:

a. Surah Al-Fatihah.

b.Ayat Al-Kursi

c. Surah At-Tariq

d. Surah Al-Quraish

e. Surah Al-Kafiroon

f. Surah Al-Ikhlas

g. Surah Al-Falaq

h. Surah An-Naas

4. Recite Ya-Latif after Isha’a prayer (129) times and ask blessings from Allah (SWT).

5. And recite following dua’a after every prayer:

رَبَّنَا هَبْ لَنَا مِنْ أَزْوَاجِنَا وَذُرِّيَّاتِنَا قُرَّةَ أَعْيُنٍ وَاجْعَلْنَا لِلْمُتَّقِينَ إِمَامًا(الفرقان:۷۴

فقط واللہ اعلم واتم
