Status of a Retailer Selling Meat

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by ShariahBoard.org

Assalamualaykum

I have been Eating meat which my mom has been getting from a bangla store by the name of “Motin” in liberty in Ozone park. I was just wondering if you could check it out. My mom said she saw the way that the farm they get their meat from slaughters the meat but I am still not so sure weather if I should trust her or not. Many times my mother says things just to make sure that we don’t fight or argue with her. It would be awesome If you could check it out. Please do so. Jazakallahukhairan.

At this time, this store is not certified by the Shariah Board. Since the issue of Halal and Haram is very sensitive, you should only buy meat from a store certified by an authentic group of ulamah kiram or by the Shariah Board of America. Extreme caution should be practiced while buying meat from any other stores. The list of the certified Halal Zabiha meat suppliers, stores and restaurants is available on our website, please visit https://shariahboard.org/halal-zabiha and then navigate to Certified Listing link.

Wassalam
