Is It Valid to Pray Makeup Prayers After Fajr?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Seekersguidance.org

Answered by Sidi Tabraze Azam

Question: Asalamu Alaykum,

Can on perform make up prayers that one has previously missed during their life time after they pray the Fajr Salah?

If there was still 30 minutes to pray Fajr, but one prayes their Fajr Salah, can the person then make up Fradh and Wajib prayers [Witr] after this that he or she has missed previously in their life?

JazakAllah Khair

Answer: Wa alaikum assalam wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh,

I hope you are in the best of health and spirits insha’Allah.

Yes, it would be valid and permitted to perform one’s makeup prayers after performing the obligatory (fard) of the Fajr prayer.
