On Eid day do you still have to read all your 5 prayers or is it optional on that day?

Answer:
In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Walaikum assalam wa rahmatullah,

It is most definitely obligatory on Eid like any other day. Eid is a day of rejoicing and thanking Allah. Believers rejoice in their worship, for it is their daily meetings with their Beloved, and it is an expression of thanks to their most generous Lord.

The Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him and give him peace) said, “The joy of my eyes is prayer.” [Nasa’i, Ahmad; Ibn Hajar said it is authentically established]

Wassalam,

Faraz Rabbani
