The Sunnah after Zuhr and Friday Prayers

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Qibla.com

Answered by Shaykh Faraz Rabbani

I thought that I had heard sometime ago that the sunnas mu’akadah after dhuhr are two. is there any basis for this in the Hanafi madhab, or are there definitely four, as you stated in a recent post?

Answer:
In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Walaikum assalam,

The confirmed sunna after Zuhr is two rakats. It is recommended (mustahabb) to make it four rakats.

The confirmed sunna after the Friday prayer is four rakats. [Nur al-Idah, Tanwir al-Absar]

Wassalam,

Faraz Rabbani
