How can I calculate and pay Fidyah or Kaffarah for my father’s missed Ramadan fasts?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Jamia Binoria
Assalamualaikum
My father did not do his Ramadan Fasts during his entire life. He died a few years ago. I want to pay “Fidyah” or “Kaffarah” for his missed Saums (Fasts). Please let me know what would be the procedure to calculate the Fidyah on per Fast basis.

If the questioner’s late father has not made a Wasiyyath to pay Fidya (the compensation) of the Fastings missed, responsibility of paying Fidya does not fall on him. Nevertheless if the questioner wishes to pay Fidya of the missed Fastings of his late father voluntarily from his own money, he should calculate the total days of Fastings from attaining adulthood upto his demise and pay for number of days he can afford, 1 ¾ Ser or for more safety, 2 Ser wheat or the price thereof as Fidya for each day.
