Assalamu Alaikum
Janab how is it to celebrate Mi’raj on the 27th night of Rajab and to keep fast on the day? Please reply without fail.

الجواب حامدا و مصلیا

Undoubtedly, the event of Mi’raj is one of the major miracles of Nabi Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam which is proved through Qur’an and Sunnath. However a fixed date of it is not known as certain, rather there remain quite a lot of different opinions in this context. Therefore, it is an Innovation and impermissible to celebrate the 27th of Rajab designating it to be Shab e Mi’raj and consider observing fasting on the day and it is necessary to refrain from it.
