At what time does the time of Ishraq commence – نماز اشراق?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Jamia Binoria

My question is : At what time does the time of Ishraq commence? Is it prohibited to do Sajda from the time sun rises upto the commencement of Ishraq?

الجواب حامدا و مصلیا

After performing Fajr Salath it is not correct to perform Nafl Salath until the sun rises whereas it is permissible to perform Qadha Salath, Sajda e Thilwath and Janaza Salath, but, the time between the appearance of the corner of the sun and the fading away of its orangeness, is Makrooh, which is approximately a ten minutes duration. It is prohibited to perform Fardh, Nafl, Sajda e Thilawath, Janaza Salath and all, during this period. And after the sun-rise when the orangeness disappears time of Ishraq begins.
