Distribution of Quran translations without Arabic

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by IslamicPortal.co.uk

Distribution of Quran translations without Arabic

Question

Some Masjids are distributing English translations of the Quran that do not contain the Arabic text, primarily to give to non-Muslims. Should we abstain from this and how should we advise the Masjids?

بسم الله الرحمن الرحیم

Answer

The Quran was revealed in the Arabic language and therefore any translation must be accompanied with the original Arabic text (as detailed in an earlier answer). Translations that do not contain the Arabic text should be avoided and Masjids should be advised to acquire translations with the Arabic text. Many such translations are available.
