A follow up query regarding ‘Abdullah ibn ‘Umar (radiyallahu ‘anhuma) making du’a at the time of Maghrib

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by HadithAnswers.com

Question

What is the reason for the weakness in this chain in the Hadith you have answered here regarding ‘Abdullah ibn ‘Umar (radiyallahu ‘anhuma) making du’a at the time of Maghrib? Is there a weak narrator?

Answer

The weakness is due to a weak narrator; ‘Abdur Rahman ibn Ishaq, Abu Shaybah Al Wasiti.

He has been declared weak by Imams Ahmad, Ibn Ma’in, Nasai and others.

(Refer: Mizanul I’tidal, vol. 2 pg. 486, number: 4567)

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best.
