Question:
Is this following Hadith suitable to quote?
Sayyiduna Abud Darda (radiyallahu ‘anhu) reports that Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said:
“Whosoever reads this kalimah [La ilaha illallah] 100 times daily, his face will shine like the 14th moon on the Day of Qiyamah.” Tabarani
Answer:
Imam Tabarani (rahimahullah) has recorded this Hadith in Musnadush Shamiyyin.
Sayyiduna Abu Darda (radiyallahu ‘anhu) reports that Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said: “Whoever recites ‘La ilaha illallah’ one hundred times, Allah will resurrect him on the Day of Qiyamah and his face will be like [shining] like the full moon…”
(Musnadush Shamiyyin, Hadith: 994)
‘Allamah Haythami (rahimahullah) has declared one of the narrators extremely weak. In fact, Imam Abu Hatim (rahimahullah) has declared him a liar. The Muhaddithun have also declared some of his other narrations fabrications.

Note:
1) The Hadith in question does not mention reciting this daily.
2) There is an authentic narration which encourages reciting a similar dhikr one hundred times daily. See here.
