Question

Please verify the following Hadith:

Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said: “If a person becomes ill, Allah rewards him for his illnesses.”

(Sahih Bukhari and Sahih Muslim)

Answer

You are probably referring to the following authentic Hadith recorded in Sahih Muslim:

Sayyidah ‘Aaishah (radiyallahu ‘anha) reported: “I heard Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) say, ‘Allah records a good deed and expiates a sin whenever anything afflicts a believer, even if it be a thorn prick.’”

(Sahih Muslim, Hadith: 2572)
