Is this Hadith authentic?
Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said:
“When a man raises his voice with singing [music], Allah sends two devils to sit on his shoulders, beating their heels on his chest until he keeps silent”
Answer:
Imam Tabarani (rahimahullah) has recorded this Hadith on the authority of Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (radiyallahu ‘anhu).
(Al Mu’jamul Kabir, Hadith: 7825)
‘Allamah Haythami (rahimahullah) states, “Tabarani has recorded this Hadith with several chains. The narrators of one of these chains have been declared credible [by some], and weak [by others].”

The Hadith is suitable to quote.
