A Filthy World or the Devil’s Deception?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Qibla.com

Answered by Shaykh Faraz Rabbani

I have a problem where I see najis nearly everywhere. For example, if there was najis in a certain area, not a large amount, lightly spread, I feel by the actions of another, (a child), the najis might have been spread to other areas. These areas then I think are also contaminated and I tire myself trying to clean these areas without really knowing if najis was actually spread. Am I over-doing it or is this what should be done?

Answer:
In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Walaikum assalam wa rahmatullah,

This is waswasa (baseless misgivings) from the Devil, the ultimate goal of which is to discourage one and convince one that the religion and religious commitment are too difficult.

The solution is simple: to gain knowledge (in general and relating to one’s situation), and to ignore such impulses.

Please read the attached answer very carefully.

The basic principle is: everything is pure until proven with real certainty that it is filthy (such that you can see, smell or taste the filth).

Wassalam,

Faraz Rabbani

I fear that I am spreading impurity, wherever i go. Mosques, buses, trains, etc. What should I do?
