Will our pets come to Jannah?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by HadithAnswers.com

There is a Hadith quoted although I am not sure if it is authentic but it says that the animals will be resurrected and turned to dust.

If it is authentic what is the commentary?

Does it mean if we have animals as pets in this world they won’t be in Jannah with us?

Answer

This Hadith is recorded in several Hadith sources.

The purpose for resurrecting the animals will be to demonstrate the complete justice of Allah Ta’ala.

Thereafter they will be reduced to dust.

Based on the above, worldly pets will not be in Jannah.

However, if one’s pet does cross his mind in Jannah, and he asks for it, Allah Ta’ala will fulfill his request.

In Jannah one will be granted every wish.

(Surah Qaf, ayah: 35)

In a narration of Sunan Tirmidhi, (hadith: 2543) a person asked Rasulullah (sallallahu’alayhi wasallam): ‘Will there be camels in Jannah?’

Nabi (sallallahu’alayhi wasallam) replied:

‘If Allah admits you into Jannah, you will receive whatever your soul desires and whatever pleases your eye.’

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best,
