Do not omit the two Sunnah of Fajr even if you are trampled over by horses

I wanted to know the authenticity of the following Hadith:

Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (radiyallahu ‘anhu) reported that Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said:

“Do not omit them [i.e. the two rak’ahs Sunnah of Fajr] even if you are trampled over by horses.”

Answer

Imams Abu Dawud and Ahmad (rahimahumallah) have recorded this Hadith with a weak chain.

(Sunan Abi Dawud, Hadith: 1252, Musnad Ahmad, vol. 2 pg. 405. Refer: Nasbur Rayah, vol. 2 pg. 160/161, Faydul Qadir, Hadith: 9760)

The Hadith is suitable to quote to explain the importance of this Salah.

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best.
