Correct way of pronouncing Sa’id ibn Al Musayyab (rahimahullah)’s name

What is the correct method of pronouncing Sa’id ibn Al Musayyab (rahimahullah)’s name? Musayyab (with a fathah) or Musayyib (with a kasrah)?

Answer:

Both ways are correct.

‘Allamah Nawawi (rahimahullah) states that the people of Madinah Al Munawwarah pronounce it as Al Musayyib (with a kasrah) and Al Musayyab (with a fathah) is the more popular way.
