The virtue of controlling one’s anger

What is the reference for the following Hadith?

“He who swallows his anger despite being able to vent it, Allah will call him in front of the entire creation on the Day of Qiyamah and allow him to choose whichever hur [maiden of Jannah] he desires”


Imam Tirmidhi, Imam Abu Dawud and Imam Ibn Majah (rahimahumullah) have recorded this Hadith on the authority of Sayyiduna Mu’adh ibn Anas (radiyallahu ‘anhu)

(Sunan Tirmidhi, Hadith: 2021, 2493, Sunan Abi Dawud, Hadith: 4744, Sunan Ibn Majah, Hadith: 4186)

Imam Tirmidhi (rahimahullah) has graded the Hadith sound (hasan).
