An unauthentic narration on loving Allah and frequenting the Masjids

What is the status of this narration?

Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said:

“Whomsoever loves Allah, loves the Quran. And whoever loves the Quran, loves me. And whoever loves me, loves my Sahabah and my relatives. Whoever loves Allah, loves the Masjids for they are the buildings and courtyards of Allah. Allah Ta’ala has commanded that they be exalted and has blessed them and their inhabitants. Allah protects those who frequent the Masjid and takes care of their needs  and sustenance while they are in the Masjid engaged in his remembrance”

Answer

Imam Daylami (rahimahullah) and others have recorded this narration on the authority of Sayyiduna Anas ibn Malik (radiyallahu ‘anhu). However, the Muhaddithun have declared this narration a fabrication. The Hadith is therefore not suitable to quote.

(Dhaylul La-Alil Masnu’ah, vol. 1 pg. 399, Hadith: 471, Tanzihush Shari’ah, vol. 2 pg. 115/116. Also see: Kitabul Majruhin Minal Muhaddithin, vol. 2 pg. 510 and Mizanul I’tidal, vol. 5 pg. 291, number: 9886)

There are many authentic Hadiths on each of these topics which should be quoted instead.

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best.
