A du’a to recite on ‘Eid?

What is the status of the following Hadith?

Answer

Imam Tabarani (rahimahullah) has recorded this narration on the authority of Sayyiduna ‘Abdullah ibn Mas’ud (radiyallahu ‘anhu).

(Al Mu’jamul Awsat, Hadith: 7568)

However, ‘Allamah Haythami (rahimahullah) has declared a narrator extremely weak. Some Muhaddithun have also declared him a liar.

(Majma’uz Zawaid, vol. 2 pg. 201, Mizanul I’tidal, vol. 5 pg. 36, number: 8616)

Note:

The first part of has been reliably recorded as a du’a of Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam), without specifying any particular day on which he would recite it. See here.

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best.
