What’s the ruling for a divorced woman who’s been living separately from husband for 10 months before getting divorce.what is the iddah period to be observed if there is any?

Wa’alaykum as Salam wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu,
The ‘Iddah commences from the time of divorce, and not from the last meeting with one’s husband. Hence, even though a wife was not with her husband for a lengthy period, she will still commence her period only once the divorce is issued.
The full ‘Iddah of three menstrual periods will have to be observed.
