The most correct way to spell the name Mahira, in line with the Arabic letters is as follows:
Māhirah (مَاهِرَة)
However, due to many state-provided Identity Documents unable to accommodate for the special character ‘ā’, one may suffice on keep the spelling as ‘Maahirah’.
Māhirah is the female equivalent of the name Māhir which means:
Skillful, skilled, proficient, expert, experienced.
To name a female with the name Māhirah is permissible.
