Assalamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullah
My wife got pregnant two months before our nikaah? What implication does that have in Islam?
بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
This is very unfortunate, but at the same time, we should not allow past mistakes to determine future ones. For example, justifying your behaviour or having dislike with the Islamic ruling will spread the same immorality to your children, so it is important to speak the truth even if it is against one’s self. That aside, your child is to be provided for as is your wife based on all the expected matters of provision and protection. You should also always maintain the fact that the child is born sinless with no accountability of your past. There is no shame on the child nor any reason imaginable that this is mentioned to others.
The child is considered your child if there is no-one else to claim that they are the father whether you are married or not, as the Messenger of Allah (sws) said, ‘The child belongs to the owner of the bed, and the stone is for the adulterer.’ [Al-Bukhaari and Muslim].” Therefore the child will inherit from you as well.
Only Allah knows best
