Assalamoalekum… We are working in Saudiarabia and we collected some money from all our friends on monthly basis to server the village grave(Kabirstan work)place and other charity activities like help poor etc… Presently we kept money at village and if any one of us urgently need some money at back home we give to their relative on the bank conversion rate but we charge them 5 riyals more on each 100-500 riyals and they need to pay after a month time. Is it permissible on islam to accept this money and can we utilize this money further for contribution to build or repair mosque or any other activities? your kind response is highly appreciated.

In village, the amount which is given from collected donations is a debt. Whoever borrows some money he should be asked to pay back within a fixed period and he should not be charged any extra amount because it will be interest. Also, borrower’s relative staying in
Allah (Subhana Wa Ta’ala) knows Best
