Is it permissible to miss sahayri while fasting on Fridays?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Darulifta-Deoband.com
I want to do fasting on every Friday as due to health problem I left some in Ramdan, can I miss the sahayri as I want to get up only for Fajar because there will be a lot of time from saharyi to Fajr.

Answer

(Fatwa: 209/209=M)

To have Sahri (meal before daybreak) is sunnah and a matter of reward and blessing, it supplies strength to the body for keeping fast. It has been encouraged in Hadith to eat Sahri. Now it is up to you whether achieve this reward or forsake it, the Shariah puts no pressure. However, keeping fast without having Sahri is valid.
