Pregnant and Hijab

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by CouncilofUlama.co.za

Q: I’m 6 months pregnant with my second child and disappointed by my boyfriend in a 6 years relationship. Can I go into parda (hijab) while I’m pregnant? I’m seeking Allah because I don’t want another man to see me including my boyfriend.

A: Yes not only should you go into purdah but you need to stop all haraam contact with your boyfriend if he refuses to marry you. Make taubah for all your past sins inclusive of bearing a child out of wedlock, make an effort to learn more about Islam and try to obey all injunctions of sharia (Islam) and shun all acts if disobedience for Allah is all Mercifull and Forgiving.
