Sharia ruling of imaam lifting hands and making dua after fardh Salaah

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Askimam.org

What is the Sharia ruling regarding the imaam lifting hands and  making dua after fardh salaah?

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

It is permissible for the Imaam to lift his hands after salaah and make dua. It is not compulsory to do so.[1] To regard a permissible act as compulsory in Deen is Bid’ah.
