If i go to masjid for asr namaaz and if i see that there are only few minutes left for the jamaat to begin then i have 2 options either to pray asr sunnah quickly or either pray tahiyyatul masjid normally so which one shall i select to pray before the namaaz?

If there is time of two or four rakah salah before starting of the jama’ah, you can offer two or four rakah (as per the time) with the intention of sunnah, it shall suffice for tahiyatul masjid.
