Question
Can Nikah Be Done on Eid Day?
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Answer:
Allah (swt) mentions in the Holy Quran, “Marry women who are pleasing to you in twos, threes, or four.”.[1] Allah does not mention the time when marriage is permissible neither does he mention times that marriage should not be done. Therefore, the verse of the Quran is general and it will stay on its generality as long as there is no proof or evidence that opposes it.[2] It would be permissible to have Nikaah on the day of Eid because there is no evidence that opposes it.
